A conversation with Leona Tate, Dodie Smith-Simmons, Malik Rahim and Edwin Lombard, moderated by Eric Seiferth of the Historic New Orleans Collection. This event is in honor of their collaborative exhibit, which was on display at the Main Library from June-August, 2024. About the Program and Presenters New Orleans Civil Rights pioneers Leona Tate, Malik Rahim, Doratha “Dodie” Smith-Simmons, and Malik Rahim speak with the Historic New Orleans Collection’s Eric Seiferth about their experiences fighting for freedom and creating The Trail They Blazed traveling exhibit. About The Exhibit The Trail They Blazed is a traveling exhibition built collaboratively by the Historic New Orleans Collection with our speakers and the community that participated in the local Civil Rights movement, and those working to preserve its legacy.
