"The Mighty Sierra Nevada"- Original art by Patrick Michael Karnahan

American- artist oil painter Patrick Michael Karnahan showcases his original landscape art- (plein air), of his local Sierra Nevada Mountains in this art/ music video. Patrick started painting at the age of 8 years, with his first life study at 15. (If you watch to the end of the video, Patrick is pictured at the age of 15 on his first plein air arkwork of his fathers barn. The video features artwork over forty-five years of painting the Sierra. Most of the art that is shown in the video has sold though art galleries and art dealers. All of Patrick's work has been painted on canvas, with oil paints (traditional style), and the artist is self taught. The artist is also a 22- fire season employee with the united States Forest Service. When the artist was not fighting fire, the Patrick would put in time as a Interpretive Ranger doing campfire programs and teaching art to campers. In the video the artist is shown teaching art to children in the campgrounds. Pastrick is also known for all his artwork he has done for the National Forest in the form of poster art. In 2005, the artist showcased his work at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival and Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.
