Rick Muston is a Marine veteran who fought in the Second Battle of Fallujah. As a lance corporal in Company C, 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, Muston knew a deployment to Iraq was approaching but was clueless about the impending battle. He was initially disheartened by a lack of the intense combat for which he trained. It was when they were told about the extensive operation that reality set in. Muston’s story is just one of many included in DAV’s latest multimedia project commemorating the 20th anniversary of the battle and its effect on those who served during the most intense urban fighting since the Vietnam War.
