Each year the Overland Park Fire and Police honor guards combine to conduct a reverent memorial ceremony at the 9/11 Memorial in Overland Park. From 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. (Central) they commemorate the sentinel events of the attacks on our nation on September 11th, 2001. The ceremony is quiet and reverent and is open to the public. The 9/11 Memorial in Overland Park was built entirely with private donations and stands as a testament to the community's generosity and tenacity to honor the vow to Never Forget. The memorial's three-fold mission is to remember, to honor and to educate.
