This oral history was filmed by Jonas Spriestersbach in July 2022 at Guido Guidi's studio in Cesena, Italy. It is part of the CCA project The Lives of Documents—Photography as Project, an open reflection on how past and contemporary image-making practices serve as critical tools to read our built environment and design today’s world. Guido Guidi (b. 1941, Cesena, Italy – lives and works in Cesena, Italy) is a pioneer of contemporary Italian landscape photography, focusing on rural and suburban landscapes in Italy and Europe. He studied architecture and industrial design at the Istituto Universitario di Architettura in Venice (IUAV). Since the late 1960s, he has experimented with photographic approaches to picturing transformations in Italian and European landscapes, cities, and the built environment.
