2024 Cadillac Lyriq Review: Traditional Comfort, New Age Tech

The Cadillac Lyriq has been on sale for nearly two years now, but getting one into the Cars.com offices for testing has been difficult — production of Cadillac’s first-ever electric vehicle has been slow to start due to supplier issues in its first year of production. But Cadillac assures us that those issues are worked out, cars are flowing out of its Tennessee factory, and in fact, the Lyriq has become one of the bestselling models in the Cadillac showroom. Finally, we were able to get our hands on a new 2024 model for a week’s worth of living-with-it evaluation, and to see if the idea of a Cadillac SUV with 340 horsepower and more than 300 miles of range is a viable offering for shoppers seeking a luxury EV SUV or if it’s a passing fad. Cars.com’s Detroit Bureau Chief Aaron Bragman is the guy who spent a week with the new Lyriq, and he definitely has some thoughts about it; here, he walks you through what the new GM Ultium vehicle architecture is, how the Lyriq fits into that lineup and what your options are for building your new two-row Cadillac EV SUV. Does it have enough power in rear-wheel-drive single-motor guise? How’s the interior feel? How does it drive? Click through to see his review!
