Interesting sights of the town of Waddinxveen nearly a century ago. Waddinxveen is a medium size town in the province of Zuid Holland in the Netherlands, not far from the more well-known city of Gouda (famous for its cheese and candles). Among other, this film shows the famous draw bridge over the river Gouwe as well as the characteristic old Dutch houses and (steam) boats on the Gouwe. Waddinxveen was established when the famous Dutch count Floris the IV sold a piece of land in the year 1233. Therefore the town cellebrated it 750 years anniversary in 1983.
