Jimmy Cantwell Cowboy Singer

We met up with Jimmy in the high mountains of Central Colorado. Jimmy is a man of many skills and we got to see a few of those skills first hand. Jimmy had this to say: Growing up my uncle had a small cow calf operation I spent quite a bit of time helping on and my parents raised and trained thoroughbred horses until my father passed away. The horse has been the greatest passion of my life and for many years my wife and I have worked together starting colts and riding for the public. I also spent some time in the Army where I got to put that passion to use as a soldier and later civilian trainer of the Fort Carson Mounted Color Guard. Where I trained soldiers to ride, performed Cavalry skills demonstrations and charges at rodeos, military ceremonies and trained special forces until it’s unfortunate disbanding in 2023. It was quite an experience and I’m grateful I got to be apart of it. Honestly the music has been there through it all but I don’t really know where it came from. It’s always meant a lot to me but I never really took it seriously. I grew up playing fiddle and singing a little when I could but I never in my life imagined I’d ever write a song and I never even tried until a year ago. Not until life forced my hand and a series of events happened that pushed me into writing about life and the things I’ve seen. Now a year later here we are. So I hope you enjoy.
