The Dharamshala Skyway a.k.a Dharamshala Ropeway is a cable car in the town of Dharamshala and located near Dharamshala Bus Stand, Bye Pass Road, Kotwali Bazaar. The Dharamshala Ropeway connects the two popular tourist destinations - Dharamshala and McLeodganj. The Dharamshala Ropeway timings are from 10 AM to 6 PM. Since, we had our own vehicle and wanted to visit the popular tourist spots in Mcleodganj, we availed the parking facility and took a round trip ticket for the Dharamshala Cable Car. The Dharamshala Skyway Ticket Charges are ₹300 for the One-Way Trip and ₹500 for the Round Trip. We would recommend you to buy the round trip ticket for the Dharamshala to Mcleodganj Ropeway as it is not only economical but will also offer an incredible aerial viewing experience at different times of the day. The Dharamsala Ropeway Cable Car can accommodate maximum 6 people at a time, so make sure to go with your friends or family members for a fun and exciting experience. The length of the Dharamshala to Mcleodganj Skyway Route is 1.8km long and it will take approximately 15-20 mins for the cable car to reach Mcleodganj Skyway Platform from Dharamshala Skyway Platform. We experienced the Dharamshala Skyway in the month of July during the rainy season. When our Cable Car took off from the Dharamshala Skyway Platform, the weather outside was gloomy and when we were about to reach the Mcleodganj Skyway Platform, the weather was foggy with low visibility. There are numerous places to visit in Mcleodganj such as the Tibetan Kalachakra Temple, Bhagsunath Waterfall, Guna Devi Temple, Triund Trek, St John’s Church, Namgyal Monastery, Local Tibetan Market. We spent 4-5 hours in Mcleodganj visiting some of these popular tourist destinations, ate delicious food at House of Tibet Restaurant and did some shopping at the local Tibetan market. Then, we took the cable car from the Mcleodganj Skyway platform to Dharamshala.
