What is Indirect Coombs test| Titres of ICT Indirect Coombs Test in Rh Negative Pregnancy

Indirect Coombs test or ict is done to find out whether there are circulating antibodies present in the blood. Normally it's negative but in case of Rh Isoimmunization or any blood group incompatibility it becomes positive. If the titres are above 1/16 it's considered positive. During pregnancy of Rh negative mothers regular titres should be done and in case there are rising titres it's a signal that it will cause problems in the baby in uterus. If there are rising titres then Fetal medicine doctor should be consulted and proper treatment of fetus should be done. If rising titres are ignored then it may lead to still birth due to hydrops fetalis or early neonatal death due to severe anemia and jaundice. In case of negative indirect Coombs test the mother need not worry and it's not going to cause any problem related to Rh negative blood group. #ict #indirectcoombstest #rhnegativemother
