Do you wanna get into the Sawtooths during the winter? This may be the easiest way to do it. Stanley Idaho and the Sawtooth mountains are tough, rugged. Very few people live in Stanley during the winter. Typically business's shut their doors and locals migrate to sightly warmer climates. Stanley is the coldest town in Idaho. In the mornings during our week in February we saw -25 degrees, and that was a week of exceptional weather. So what's open, and what can you do in Stanley when the snow flies? We like this idea. Stay at Mountain Village Lodge, grab a snowmobile, and head up to Stanley Lake. Afterwards enjoy a soak at Mountain Village Hot Springs. We couldn't think of a better Stanley winter experience for you and the entire family. Sunbeam Hot Springs off highway 75 is an easily accessible winter activity as well.
