A Day In Ogunquit Beach Maine - August 15, 2021

One of my favorite places to visit during the summer is Ogunquit, Maine. As I live only 25 miles or so away from here I try to go as often as I can. Today was particularly beautiful so I thought I'd spend some time and take you along with me. I didn't have my video camera so we'll just have to settle for video from my cell phone. We start off in Ogunquit village and then make our way down to the beach. Then we walk along Marginal Way which is a foot path that winds along the coast from the beach to Perkins Cove. Fun Fact! Perkins Cove was the inspiration for the Angela Lansbury character Jessica Fletcher's fictional home town of Cabot Cove, Maine in the 1980s TV series Murder She Wrote. The footbridge is a manually operated draw bridge. There are no bridge operators. If a boat needs the bridge opened in order to get out to sea it will sound it's horn and anybody on the bridge can press the button to raise the bridge and then lower it after the boat passes by. Unfortunately no boats tall enough to need the bridge opened went by while I was there so I couldn't get a shot of the bridge opening and closing.
