I have been packing today for a three month trip overseas. My night flight will take me to Amsterdam where I change for a second flight to Manchester in northern England. From there a train back to West Yorkshire. The trip has been planned to give me dedicated writing time in my preferred counties of Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire, with a side trip over to Spain to walk on Camino de Santiago. This year we will walk from Leon to Santiago and out to Murxia on the Atlantic coast, finishing a pilgrimage of 800km that my son and I began several years ago.
