Meet my new-to-me 23 foot '78 GMC Birchaven Motorhome! In '78, GMC made 175 23' motorhomes as Transmodes - they were all sourced out to secondary market companies to be finished out. Coachmen company built the Birchavens. This example is a side bath version - which seems to be less common, although production numbers are unknown. Most of them I've seen in the wild are rear bath, which have a tiny tub, toilet, vanity sink, and closet in the rearmost area of the coach. The side bath frees up the very rear of the coach for a couple of small couches and a swing-out table which can be converted into a pretty large sleeping area. I've been searching for a couple of years for the perfect unit - and when I found one, I was either broke or it was just out of reach. This unit's a compromise - but with a little luck and a lot of hard work I think it'll be perfect! Thanks for dropping by!
