(Didn't go to plan) Well here we go again. This time its the amazing Accurascale HYA/IIA wagons in the Fastline livery, and what wouldn't be complete with its own branded loco, The Bachmann Class 66301 in house colors with the allover grey, five white strips and two yellow. Both are incredible models and are beautifully detailed. (even for the age of the class 66) The Bachmann loco was brought secondhand though Ebay. The down side is for the layout that I used for this "test" the class 66 was unable to pull the wagons. With just a few wagons some derailed in the tunnel and then tipping over. (all in the tunnel) Once recovered I started again, one wagon at a time. I got back up to seven but then issues started to arise again. If this was set up on a big wide open layout with long sweeping curves I think the class 66 would be able to pull them. The loco weighs in at 544 grams, which by "modern" standards is a little on the lite side. I don't think there would be an issue adding 100/150 grams of extra ballast in the loco body or the fuel tank if needed and the wagons weigh in at 154 gram each. As and when I come to (Hopefully) build my own layout I'd consider metal strips under the track and magnets under the loco for extra traction.
