We flew from Oslo to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to begin our tour of Southeast Asia. After a much needed break in KL, we rode south along the coast toward Singapore. Malaysia is a fascinating, multi-cultural country with significant Chinese and Indian populations as well as Malay. There is so much variety in the food due to these influences, and we were all too happy to sample as many dishes as we could. While the traffic conditions in Malaysia were harrowing at times, we could occasionally find nice back roads to cycle. The people we met were extremely friendly and welcoming, and we had a wonderful start to the next phase of our world bicycle tour.
