The annual sugar cane yield season in Maharashtra also coincides with the time when leopards give birth to their offspring. In fact, in areas conquered by sugarcane agriculture, it is common to find leopards in tall fields. This field provides better shelter and protection, so very often female leopards leave their young in the sugar fields. Recently few farmers confronted a cub while harvesting the sugarcane. They informed the forest department about the same. Along with the forest department, we rescued the cub and were immediately observed by the vets. The cub was just two days old with an umbilical cord. We decided to reunite him with his mother the same evening. We placed hidden 360-degree cameras on the fields and hid the little one there. Within an hour the mother passed and took her cub and reuniting was accomplished
