Chapters: 00:00 - Intro 00:30 - Cameras and Lenses 02:55 - Film 04:04 - Loading Film 05:09 - Setting Proper Exposure 07:38 - Sunny 16 08:24 - Deciding What to Photograph 09:31 - Unloading Your Film 10:10 - Developing Your Film 10:38 - Outro Glossary: (based on timecode) SLR - Single Lens Reflex, a camera that uses the same lens to preview the picture in the viewfinder and record the photo onto film Rangefinder - a camera that has a separate lens to preview the picture with a viewfinder Point & Shoot - a camera that is designed to require no camera nohow, only pointing the camera and pressing the shutter button Viewfinder - an eyepiece that when looked through gives a preview of the photo being taken and frequently other information like focus and camera settings Zoom Lens - a lens that has a variable focal length or field of view, in other words, a lens that can zoom in or out Prime Lens - a lens that is set to one focal length, or, cannot zoom in or out Focal Length - how zoomed in a lens is, (simply speaking) measured in millimeters Telephoto Lens - a lens that has a focal length higher than 50mm, for example, a 200mm lens Lens Mount - the place on a camera you attach a lens, can vary based off of camera make and model Aperture - the opening of your lens that determines how much light is being brought into the camera, measured in f-stops Color Negative Film - film that after development shows a color-negative image, needs to be made positive to be viewed correctly Color Positive Film - Also called slide film, after development it shows a color-positive image that can be viewed without using any special processes Exposure - 1: a photo 2: the brightness of a photo 3: a practice that is illegal in public in the United States Black & White Negative Film - Like color negative film except lacking in color Film Stock - a type of film, for example: there are a lot of film stocks to choose from ISO - a number that correlates with how sensitive to light a film is Shutter - a piece of metal or cloth that prevents film from being exposed to light unless a photo is being taken Shutter speed - the amount of time the shutter allows the film to be exposed to light for Light meter - an electronic device that measures the amount of light available, built in to most cameras from 1980 on Overexposed - when film has been exposed to too much light Underexposed - when film has not been exposed to enough light Golden Hour - the hour following sunrise and leading up to sunset Photographer - Someone who captures and then shares LIGHT
