Star In the East - Malcolm Dalglish, performed by the Birmingham Boys Choir at the 35th annual Christmas Concert, 12-4-2012, Ken Berg Director. Susan Berg, Assistant Music Director and Pianist. Soloist: Hap Gannon, Michael White, and Nicholas Ritchey Violin: Marianne Griffin "Star in the East" is a medley of three traditional Christmas tunes from the Appalachian Mountains of the United States. Malcolm Dalglish, an alumnus of the American Boychoir, originally wrote this work to be accompanied by a Hammered Dulcimer, an instrument closely bound to that area of the country. It is with gracious permission of the composer that we present this work re-scored for piano and violin.
