An busy two hours at Carlisle railway station on the West Coast Mainline, capturing the action that was happening including the East Coast diversions between Newcastle and Edinburgh along with two different charter services, one hauled by 47’s operating ‘Lord of the Isles Stateman: Day 1’ for Stateman Rail and the other by Navy Class 35018 steamer on ‘The Cumbrian Mountain Express’ ran by Railway Touring Company. I though originally hoped it was going to be three on that day with the third being ‘The Settle & Carlisle Explorer’ by Intercity; but it got cancelled a couple of weeks before the day came, likely due to the lack of bookings. However, I am meanwhile pleased enough with the day’s filming because I finally got my first shots of Avanti’s PRIDE Pendolino; and I will look forward to seeing it again in the future.
