In this show, Robson Green will walk along one of Britain's most impressive archaeological monuments: Hadrian's Wall. Hadrian's Wall was the north-west frontier of the Roman empire for nearly 300 years. The most famous of all their frontiers, it was made a World Heritage Site in 1987 and spans 73 miles long and has stood since AD 128 after Emperor Hadrian's visit in AD 122. Across this series, our presenter will tread in ancient footsteps - meeting characters, visiting nearby landmarks and taking in dramatic landscapes as they go. From it's easternmost point of Segedunum, Robson sets off on his journey in Hadrian's footsteps. Along the way he discovers the boyish thrill of geocaching, learns of the Roman Frontier's equivalent to Las Vegas and also sees how some thrifty neighbours repurposed the wall for their own needs.
