CORRECTION: For the Hashimoto I showed the Push-pull version! Please disregard, scroll down on the website for their Single ended transformers. The suitable iron is this: http://www.tube-amps.net/images/Hashi... It has 25H primary inductance, which is about x10 that of the cheap Hammond. Thanks Lou for catching my mistake! Choices from most affordable to highest level (yet still not silly expensive). Your output transformer choice impacts the level of refinement in your SET the most. My suggestion: start with the affordable choice (it will be a small transformer, 3lbs or smaller), and plan for the future to have enough space in / on your chassis to accommodate for a big iron (expect 9-10lbs) in the future when you can afford it / when you are ready for it. This applies to ALL SET projects, not just the proposed Double DC Darling amp I'm sharing with you. For the Double DC Darling, the 5K and the current / wattage requirements are specific, for other projects you have to look out to get it right.
