L`Eroica 2023 in Gaiole Tuscany, Italy - thousands of vintage bike riders descend on the Strada Bianchi to ride the founding L`Eroica festival on the gravel roads of the Strada Bianchi - and its a long weekend of some of coolest bike stuff you could imagine! I take a crack at the 130k medium route on the Saturday then follow it up with 80 on Sunday - because words fail me for how awesome the ride is, though the Strada Bianchi at L`Eroica can be a seriously sketchy on the descending. L`Eroica rules are tight - all riders go through scrutineering at the start - pre `87 bikes only, downtube shifters, exposed cables only, no clipless pedals and plenty of wool and leather, and the organisers are tight about preserving the look and feel of the event so don`t try and sneak anything through - I saw a rider turned away for riding through with clipless pedals...
