Muzzleloader Antelope Hunting 2022 - Public Land Pronghorn in Colorado!!!

I have never seen pronghorn rut like this in my life! The bucks never stopped chasing off other bucks and herding their does together. Every morning of the hunt I saw anywhere from 100-300 antelope and at least two dozen of those speedgoats were bucks. Like most antelope hunts I covered a ton of ground and spent a lot of time behind binos and a window-mounted spotting scope. Before going on any serious stalks I had some fun using an antelope decoy by trying to get some of the rutting bucks to charge me. Although they would walk towards me out of curiosity and come into shooting range, I never got fully charged. On day three, I finally found the buck that I was looking for and I put on a good stalk closing the distance to about 100 yards. I got the camera set up zoomed in and got my muzzleloader set up on the top of my pack. Boom! I saw the goat drop through the smoke cloud and my pronghorn hunt was finally over! I can't put into words how bittersweet it was for this 2022 antelope hunt to end. Two full days of watching thousands of antelope rut and run all over the place is something I will never forget. All of this was added to by the fact that it was in the most beautiful place you could ever imagine, the high plains of Colorado!
