Cloud Data Driven | 2024-08-08 | IoT: Connecting the dots from Device to Database | Surbhi Pokharna

📌Community information 💡 Upcoming: Future Data Driven✨ The annual joint conference organized by the Data Platforms User Groups! Serving as a gathering for all Data enthusiasts. 🎉 🔗 Register the Future Data driven Summit 2024: https://datadrivencommunity.com/fdd20... 🔗 For more information check the conference page: https://datadrivencommunity.com/Futur... 🔗 Sponsor the event https://bit.ly/FDD2024-Sponsors 💰 ---------------------------------------- 📌 IoT: Connecting the dots from Device to Database Abstract: The IoT is here to give the power of things over to humans just in a SMART way. There are endless daily life examples: “Helmet Sensor ‘Calls Your Loved Ones’ in a Bike Crash”, “A location sensor aka ‘real-world search bar’ to easily find misplaced items, like keys and TV remotes” etc. Building such IoT solutions include several components like device communication, management, event processing, data ingestion and relational or non-relational databases. Azure SQL is one of the most secure and scalable relational databases which can handle stream processing workloads effectively from any connected IoT device. In this demo centric session, we will build an IoT solution using components like IoT Central Application, Event Hub, Stream Analytics job and Azure SQL database to store and analyze telemetry data. We will review why Azure SQL database stands out as one of the most secure and scalable solutions to store IoT streaming data, how in-memory optimized table design helps with the low latency and high throughput. After this session you would be empowered with knowledge and tools to connect the dots between these various components from device to database and build your own IoT solution using the Azure SQL Database. Speakers: Surbhi Pokharna Charles River Development, Director, Cloud Data Platform Services. Surbhi is a data professional with over two decades of architectural/administration experience in the financial domain. Architecting the operationalization aspect in a client-facing role, delivering relational and advanced analytics solutions for large scale Operational and Data Warehouse implementations with focus on learning and innovation remained a constant part of her data journey. Currently she is leading enterprise scale cloud data migrations in SQL Server/Snowflake/Azure SQL/Managed Instance and involved with designing next generation Data Analytics solutions using Snowflake. Surbhi is board member of the New England SQL Server User Group, member of PASS, speaker in PAAS Summit/Snowflake User Group/Azure Data User Groups/Data Saturdays/SQLBits. ---------------------------------------- *Upcoming!* Future Data Driven Summit 2024 Great opportunity for professionals working in the field of data and related areas to learn about the latest trends, network with industry experts, and gain insights into the future of data-driven technologies. https://datadrivencommunity.com/Futur... ---------------------------------------- Data Driven Community The Cloud Data-Driven User Group is an integral part of the Data-Driven Community.
