Chasing historic HELENE back in PERRY, FL/Northern eyewall intercept/3rd Hurricane in Taylor County

The 3rd eye intercept within a 30-mile stretch of US 98 in Taylor County, FL within 13 months. Helene ramped up to a category 4 in just 8 hours while we waited in Perry. During the wait, our group got a message from fellow chaser Jim Tang that he was broken down about 20 miles outside of Perry. We rescued him and I told him to just jump in with me for the intercept. By the time we got back to town, the police had enforced a curfew and were threatening arrest. We made our way to the Hampton Inn and waited for nightfall. As the storm approached, Jim and I made our way to a Super Wal Mart to document the now approaching category 4. We got great footage of the eyewall and some shots within the eye. After the storm was over, we surveyed the damage for about half an hour before returning to the hotel to avoid trouble with law enforcement. One of the highlights of this chase was the ability to meet and converse with several pro/veteran chasers. Names like Foster, Gammons, Hall, Pitrowski, Tang, Scantlin, and Lucio.
