Applying Vinyl to Hard Surfaces Without Getting Bubbles

Subscribe to Expressions Vinyl’s Channel Here – https://goo.gl/Y3jPi4 This video demonstrates both the proper and improper way to apply vinyl to a hard surface. The first thing Jessica does in this video is weed her vinyl. Remember to always do a test cut first to make sure your Silhouette Cameo machine is cutting properly. Two demonstrations are done in this video; the second demonstration will show the proper way of applying vinyl to a hard surface without getting any bubbles. A tip she uses in this video is putting a weeding box around the image, something done in the Silhouette Studio Software to get a nice straight edge, which helps line up your project. She then takes the transfer tape and lays it over the top of her design, taking her application tool and making sure the transfer tape is nice and rubbed down in all spots. In her first example, she peels off the backing, and then plops it on the frame. If you do that, it's going to cause bubbles to be captured underneath the vinyl when you peel it off. You can try to get those bubbles out, but some of them can be really big. If you have little bubbles you can stick a pin underneath, but that’s going to cause a headache. In the second example, she shows you the proper way you can do it without getting bubbles. Make sure you peel up your vinyl and don’t take off the backing all the way. Just take the bottom part and fold the rest of the backing underneath. Lay it where you want it, take your application tool and make sure the bottom is stuck down. Now pull the backing up as you push on the transfer tape with your application tool. This causes no bubbles and no air to be caught underneath your vinyl.
