Deped teaching demonstration 2020 " I teach by heart "🥰🥰🥰 Lesson Plan in English 8 I. Objectives At the end of the lesson, students are expected to; A. differentiate active and passive voice B. construct a sentence in an active and passive voice C. share to the class the importance of having a correct foundation in terms of sentence construction II. Subject Matter TOPIC : Passive and Active Voice REFERENCE : English Express IV, www.britishcouncil.my/english/course, k-12 curriculum guide VALUE FOCUS : Cooperation, Teamwork COMPETENCIES : Grammar Awareness III. Materials Visual Aids Pictures Scotch tape IV. Lesson Procedures A. Preliminary Activity Prayer Greetings Checking of attendance Review of previous lesson B. Activity Students will be divided into two groups. Group 1 will be the boys and Group 2 will be the girls. Each group will guess and descried the picture that the teacher will show. Every correct description is good for points. The more pictures they guess the more pints they gain. C. Analysis The students will stay in their groups. The teacher will ask comprehensive questions based on the answers in the activity earlier. D. Abstraction Passive and Active Voice Passive and Active voice are called 2 special forms of verbs. The Active voice is called “Normal Voice” The Passive voice is called “Less Usual” Voice is the quality of a verb that shows whether the subject is the doer or the receiver of the action. Active Voice – is used to indicate that the subject of the sentence is the doer of the action. Examples: Mom read the novel in one day. Tom painted the entire house. Passive Voice – is used to indicate that the subject in the sentence is the receiver instead of being the doer of the action. Examples: The house was remodeled by the homeowner. The report has been sent by me. Changing Active voice to Passive voice Active Voice : The guest enjoyed the party. Passive Voice: The Party was enjoyed by the guest. Active Voice : They are painting the walls. Passive Voice: The walls are being painted by them. E. Application In a ½ sheet of paper, change the Active voice into Passive voice. 1. I have lost the key. 2. The choir really enjoys the piece. 3. The science class viewed the comet. 4. The director will give you the instructions. 5. The kangaroos carried her baby in her pouch. Valuing What is the significance in studying Active Voice and Passive Voice? V. Evaluation Direction: On a ½ sheet of paper copy the sentences and identify if it’s Active Voice or Passive Voice. 1. Most of the class is reading the books. 2. The car has been fixed by the mechanic. 3. The money was counted by the cashier. 4. The dog chased ball. 5. The police have arrested the thieves. VII. Assignment Direction: Differentiate Active Voice from Passive Voice in 2 sentences only. Give 3 examples for each voice.
