Today Leica announced a new variation of the popular Q3 with a new lens - a 43mm APO-Summicron f/2. Every camera in the Q series to date has used the 28mm f/1.7 Summilux making this the first new lens on a Q in 9 years. Just like the 28mm, the new 43mm features incredible image quality and the "macro" mode switchable on the lens ring. The new lens is outstanding with excellent corner to corner sharpness and of course it is an Apochromatic design which increases resolution and eliminates chromatic aberration. The body is identical to the original Q3 except for the crop modes adapting to the longer focal length. The lens features optical image stabilization and crop modes are now 43mm, 60mm, 75mm, 90mm, 120mm and 150mm.
