Peter and I connected over Facebook, and had never played together previously as we thought it would be the purest improvisation to have no preconceptions attached to the music. We met for lunch once to discuss the plan in Burbank... I ate a Tuna Melt, haha.... and the second time we got together was this day recording at The Bridge in Glendale. We had it filmed since we knew it'd be impossible to try to make a music video for anything after since even we would have no idea what we played! We were both grateful and amazed that the album was nominated for a Grammy for Best New Age Album in 2016. Random Fun Fact: I was sick with Bronchitis on the day we recorded this album but already had everyone and everything booked so we just went on with it- except I ended up getting super sick that night and it turned into Pneumonia, which then lead me to being out of commission for almost 2 months... but it was worth it! I think??? Probably wouldn't do it again but oh well! Lesson learned in pushing a little too hard 🤓 It was such a rush though completely in the moment improvising together in real time, with every track completed in one take. Touring with Peter in support of the album afterwards was super fun too- we would pick a key and vibe and just play- not the same tracks as the album, so something new and different every show.
