We think women play a very important role in the corporate community. It's fun and exciting to see what women can do. Typically the business field has been made up of men which is a little bit of diversity but not a lot. Especially when you consider women are 55% of the population but they're 70 - 80% of the consumers. Who better can meet the needs of your largest consumer base than someone who has those same needs and priorities themselves? Realizing that it's good to have the different sexes think about things because women think about things differently than men. And when women were first in that workforce, they were trying to be the tough CEO so that they could have a voice. But I think that's gone away a lot because people recognize the need for both perspectives. It's okay for women to show their vulnerabilities and to show their soft side. You can still manage people and run a successful company and not have to fake who you really are just to be successful. At Acumen Learning we teach business acumen and part of the whole premise of business acumen is learning what your company does and approaching it with better information and better understanding and better decisions. And part of that is diversity. Even though you might not think it’s going to directly help our bottom line, diversity really does. McKinsey found that your more diverse companies outperform their less diverse peers by 36%. Imagine your own company, if you had a 36% better profitability you would be a completely different company. You would be outperforming your peers by a crazy margin.
