So that means the microbiome is likely dependent on available potassium. That microbiome also contains the coral symbionts that might benefit from available potassium and therefore improve the coral's conditions. That is why you should know what your potassium level is. Some tanks consume much more than others so unverified dosing to a fixed ratio is not advisable.
