An electric train has a three phase induction motor, a motor is placed in the middle of a pair of wheels and an engine has two bogies in which a total of six motors are installed and the power of all these motors can be up to 12000 HP. In an electric train, the neutral path gets from the track of the train and the phase wire supply comes from the overhead line which is a single phase supply. There is a transformer installed inside the train which steps down the high voltage. Rectifiers and inverters are installed inside the engine which convert single phase AC supply into 3 phase supply.
