2024-08-27 ride in Yamaha country - Yamaha XT 250 3Y3 Join me on a ride in Yamaha country, ha ha. We ride with my Yamaha XT 250 3Y3, first on the street in 1983, totally rotten and refurbished spring and summer 2018 and since then back on the streets again. Now I’ve bought a the keener camshaft so I will put it in during autumn or winter so it has a bit more punch. The Yamaha XT 250 3Y3 is such a great little motorcycle to ride because its weight is just 113 kg. So in comparison to the classic Honda CB 500 Four (I had 3 of them over the years) it almost has the same power in the HP to kilogram ratio which was Yamaha 5.13 kg pro HP and for the Honda 4.93 kg pro HP. Uphill the small XT can easily hold the pace of the Honda because the CB 500 Four got its power in the high rev levels but the Yamaha has good punch even in lower revs. So enjoy the ride up and down the small and last mountain outside the alps here, the Haunsberg, where I often ride up when something lays a shadow over my heart.
