This was my first trip exploring the North East of England. I'd heard lots about it being one of the poorest areas in England so I really wanted to make my own mind up on the place. I'd spent hours looking on right move and finding houses in different areas around Peterlee that were selling for 20/30k, which is at least £100k less than the cheapest around me in Derbyshire. Anyway I wanted to see for myself so I planned a few days taking in some of the sights and trying to get a feel for the place. Day 1 I went to Hamsterley Forest and really enjoyed getting lost on the trails, the next day I headed to the coast. I must say the North East coast is very pretty, cliff top walks, beaches and the sun even came out for me, it really was glorious.
