High drop-out rates and poor academic performance are the greatest challenges in primary education in the developing world. In Bangladesh around 20% of children are not completing their primary education. Across the globe, more than 59 million children are not attending school. Could the design of the outdoor environment have an impact on children's motivation to attend and learning outcomes? Interested in built-environment research particularly on children’s learning environment focusing on behavioural issues. Her research experience includes studies on the outdoor environment of children at primary schools of Bangladesh and urban residential areas. She co-designed and developed a school yard in a Government primary school in Bangladesh engaging the children and the community.
