This is my new favourite app for tracking my calories as it gives a great insight into the overall QUALITY of your foods. Up to now I've been content with logging everything in a Google spreadsheet, and by everything I mean protein, carbs and fat. Using Cronometer allows me to see much further into my diet and poke many, many holes in it. I like to take a weekly average as it reduces the noise you get from a single days data. I spotted huge deficiencies in Vitamins E & K and smaller ones in Calcium, and since my diet remains quite constant week to week it means something like this won't otherwise be addressed. It's easier to do if you eat real food and weigh your ingredients at home, not so much if you're eating miscellaneous animal meat from the kebab shop at 1am. Note that some foods in the app won't have the full nutritional data and so report vitamins and minerals as "zero" because they don't know the true values.
