This week we Go to Gympie! Gympie is situated 170 km north of Brisbane on the Mary River and less than an hour from the Sunshine Coast. We talk about how this town saved the entire state of Queensland in 1867 and we visit a flower farm saved from the recent floods (in 2022) by the local community. With land in Gympie being very affordable compared to the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane, a lot of people have made the move to Gympie in the last couple of years....the historic Gympie Station is also home to the Mary Valley Rattler steam train. Gympie has many beautiful old buildings from the Gold Rush days and is definitely worth stopping for a look next time you're driving through on the Bruce Highway..... WHERE DID WE GO?
