State of Church National Anthem - Gran Marcia Trionfale (1857-1949)

La Gran Marcia Trionfale, fu l'inno ufficiale dello Stato Pontificio dal 1857 al 1949. La musica venne composta dall' austriaco Vittorino Hallmayr, un comandante di divisione austriaco di stanza a Roma per la difesa dello Stato Pontificio. Il brano venne eseguito per la prima volta il 9 giugno 1857 ,durante la visita ufficiale alla città di Bologna. Il 5 settembre 1857 divenne ufficialmente l'inno dello Stato Vaticano. Dopo la Breccia di Porta Pia ( l'annessione di Roma al Regno d'Italia, il 20 Settembre 1871) l'inno rimase a lungo in disuso. La marcia ritornò ad essere utilizzata come inno nazionale nel 1929, quando con i Patti Lateranensi , voluti da Mussolini, lo Stato della Città del Vaticano ottenne l'indipendenza dall'Italia, e la questione romana fu risolta. The Great Triumphal March was the official anthem of the State of Church between 1857 and 1949. The music was composed by the Austrian commander Vittorino Hallmayr, stationed in Rome ti defend the city. The hymn was played for the first time in Bologna, on 9th June 1857, during a official visit of Pope Pius IX. On 5th September the hymn was officialy adopted by the Vatican as its national anthem. After the Breccia of Porta Pia ( the annexation of Rome to the Kingdom of Italy, on 20 September 1871), the anthem was used rarely. It returned back in 1929, after Lateran Treaty ,signed by Mussolini. With this treaty the Vatican State became a indipendent country and the Roman Question was resolved.
