One of these things is not like the other (yet again!) Many of you enjoyed the last two collaborations between Steve Lewis and I, so here we are yet again with a Part 3! Today, the two of us go through a series of Beach Boys albums (including live albums, compilations, and a few oddballs) to determine the weirdest or most unusual song on each one. From The Smile Sessions to Stars & Stripes, Stack-o-Tracks to Salute NASCAR, Endless Summer to Live in London, we look at a variety of Beach Boys projects and determine the tune that doesn't quite belong! Remember that these songs are not bad (indeed many are quite good), but even a great song can feel out of place if it is very different than the surrounding tracks. As several Beach Boys albums were composites of multiple projects or featured obvious filler tracks, sometimes our work on finding the oddballs was easy but in others with a more cohesive feel, it was quite a challenge. Part 1 covers studio albums "Surfin' Safari" through "Holland." Part 2 covers studio albums "15 Big Ones" through "That's Why God Made the Radio." Part 3 covers a variety of albums from early tracks ("Becoming the Beach Boys"/"Lost & Found") through "Beach Boys Salute NASCAR." Part 4 covers random albums from the 2000s to the 2020s. (Coming soon!) Please comment your choice for the most unusual track on each Beach Boys album below! Check out Steve's Channel: / @thebeachboysbasementwithst6444
