There are so many ways to make a cloud in a bottle, but this one is by far the simplest and easiest way I have discovered how to do it! All you need is an empty water bottle and some rubbing alcohol to get started making your own clouds to amaze adults and kids with this simple cloud in a bottle experiment! The cool thing about learning how to make a cloud in a water bottle is that the science behind how it works is exactly the same way real clouds form in the sky too! The science behind this experiment: When the air pressure inside the bottle quickly decreases when the cap is removed or when the bottle is untwisted, the temperature drops inside the bottle as well. The pressure and temperature drop allow the water vapor inside the bottle to condense onto the rubbing alcohol particles and it creates a cloud! As soon as you increase the air pressure, the cloud will vanish again just as quickly as it appeared! This is the same way that high-pressure systems in the atmosphere bring sunny skies, while low-pressure systems bring clouds and stormy weather.
