Atlantis Saber Tooth Tiger Build Up

This is the Atlantis repop of the classic Aurora Prehistoric Scenes Saber Tooth Tiger. I built this and several PS models as a kid in the 70s. My models look a lot better nowadays. For some reason this kit comes with a larger base (which houses the beast and the large bush) and a small base, whose only purpose appears to be support for the antelope leg which, we can assume, is being jealously protected by the Smilodon. I epoxied the two bases together, moved the bush to the back because it detracted from the main focus of the vignette, and added the tall spindly tree to the bush's former spot on the base. The paints are mostly Vallejo acrylics. The rocks are Liquitex Black Lava gel. I used a roughly 1:20 solution of Utrecht Warm Sepia artist's oil paint and white spirits for the Smilodon's coat, accents, and highlights. Eyes and some accents courtesy of Micron pens.
