Wild Camping & a Curry on the Trangia! North Yorkshire Moors, the Wainstones.

Having done a couple of physically demanding hikes on my last two wild camps, I decided to cut myself a bit of slack and enjoy a more leisurely hike. Joined by my dad ‪@overthehillwildcamper‬ and my friend Ciaran, this would be my first wild camp on The North Yorkshire Moors. We set off from Clay Bank Car Park near Stokesley and hiked to Cringle Moor, before looping back to the Wainstones where I pitched my new Mountain Laurel Designs Duomid for the night. I don't know if it's just me, but food always seems to taste better when it's eaten outside on a wild camp, plus there's always plenty of time to get cooking once the tent is pitched. So given the less strenuous hike, I grabbed the opportunity to pack my Trangia 27 cook set and see if it was up to the task of cooking a lamb mince curry from scratch. The curry turned out really well, so if you have a Trangia or similar bit of kit, you'll hopefully enjoy this. However, if camp cooking isn't your thing, then just skip between minutes 10:40 and 20:25. Following a calm, rainless night, we enjoyed a nice breakfast before breaking camp and heading back to the car. I hope you enjoy watching as much as we enjoyed doing it.
