It is one of the best known and most popular hymns ever written. The hymn was written by British Anglican hymnist Henry Francis Lyte in late summer 1847, months before his death, and it was set to the tune 'Eventide' by English organist, church musician and music editor William Henry Monk. The footage in this video were taken at St Marks Anglican Church Granville, capturing the memorial windows which recorded the parishioners who enlisted in World War 1, including those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
