Rob tells us that the best time to target crappies on these lakes is as soon as the ice is gone. We happen to be here during a cold front, but we target the north end of the lake as usual, and find fish. Exclusively using Kalin’s plastics like the crappie scrub, and never live bait, is the key to our success. Not having to constantly re-bait our hooks keeps us on the fish longer.
