The town of Beaumont, Kansas is such a unique town full of interesting history. For example, it is home to the last remaining wooden water tower in the United States used by the Frisco railroad line. The water tower was used to supply water for steam powered locomotives. Despite its railroad history, the town was also an important ranching town as well as a prominent stagecoach stop between Fredonia and Wichita, Kansas. Today, Beaumont is a popular stop for tourists, motorcyclists and aviators. A self-guided tour is available for those interested. One can find numerous signs explaining the town's varied past.
