Native American Sites of the Chicago Region - Glen Ellyn

In this first video of a new video series, we'll be exploring Native American sites of the Chicagoland region, with this first video focused on the Glen Ellyn area. We'll use both historical and archeological sources and references to guide us in our search, including the Albert Scharf maps of the early 1900s, curated at the Chicago History Museum. This video features the Churchill Woods Forest Preserve between Glen Ellyn and Lombard, Illinois, which was once the setting for a large Potawatomi settlement in the late 1820s and early 1830s, prior to their removal from Illinois in the mid to late 1830s.
