Tampa City council member Bill Carlson has advised residents to not “go outside and test the wind” as Hurricane Milton approaches and tornadoes batter the US state of Florida. Hurricane Milton is being labelled the worst storm to make landfall in more than a century. Florida has also seen tornadoes ahead of Hurricane Milton’s expected landfall, which has caused some damage to the state. “All over the region, we have tornadoes right now, and the best thing people should do is stay inside; don’t go outside and test the wind,” Mr Carlson told Sky News Australia. “Please, everybody pray for us.”
