Skegness - NOT the UK's Worst Seaside Town! Fun by the sea in our motorhome with our chihuahuas

So, we saw several suggestions that Skegness is the UK's worst seaside town. Obviously, we wanted to check it out for ourselves! Clearly we've not been to every UK seaside town, but, based on our weekend, we can't see why Skegness is viewed so harshly. We took our Roller Team Auto Roller 707 to the Skegness Sands campsite (tour and review video coming soon!) for 2 nights in March 2023. The campsite is brilliantly located, with a gate directly onto the promenade. You can walk to the centre of Skegness in around 35-40 minutes along the promenade or the lovely wide sandy beach. The walk into town was nice, and as it's flat, it's not challenging (apart from the sand if you choose to walk on the beach). We stopped for coffee at the pier, and thought it was a really good coffee. In the pier amusement building, there are free toilets, which were spotlessly clean when we visited. We thought we wouldn't enjoy the centre of town and would only venture there for some footage, but actually it was a really vibrant place to be. There's also a peaceful garden if you need respite from the amusement arcades and fish and chip shops. Many of the machines in the arcades took 2p pieces - we only spent 50p in there but it was great fun, and nice to see something to amuse kids that wouldn't have to cost the earth. We watched the log flume - Wild River - a few times before I decided I'd go on it, not sure what possessed me!! Rewarded with an ice cream and waffle from Fifi's, we strolled back to the campsite and I stopped for some bargain books at the Coast Watch building. On the final day, we took the motorhome to town, parking on South Parade, and walked through the marine lake gardens to the beach. We enjoyed sundaes from Heavenly Ices before heading home. Our experience led us to believe that Skegness could not be the UK's seaside town. We had a great time and it was refreshingly busy out of season, so we can't be on our own in liking the place. It seemed pretty clean for a busy place, there were lots of places to eat and drink, the people we met were lovely, and there's things to do whether you like noisy arcades or quieter parks. We would definitely go back. Campsite: https://www.barhamcaravan.co.uk/infor...
