HELLO WORLD!! I'm Lauren... Singer/guitarist/art maker of the band i created.. Hands Off Gretel! This is a song i wrote when i dropped out of college.. after a week of staring out the window and drawing tiny stick people friends all over my hands. My teacher kept asking me why i was late for class, so i told her the truth. I said "Miss, i am a baby. I was too scared to get on the bus, so i watched it go past me". And i did.. every morning i couldn't stick my hand out! Then i used this whole "i'm a baby" thing as an excuse. I took the blame, i laughed at myself, i admitted i was everything everyone said i was, i refused to get a job, be a grown up, and be in any way responsible. I locked myself in my room and accepted that i'd never be able to live like everyone else, that i'd just draw pictures and make music and sing in front of hundreds of faces then go home and just be a child forever, never having to face the world. It looked so easy to everyone else... to leave their house and just be whatever their told to be! i felt like the only one who couldn't adjust to the world. So after i avoided the bus.. i created my own little happy place.. i named it.. HANDS OFF GRETEL!! It's where i hide and create things, where i scream and where i play dress up as a rockstar!... and your all so very welcome to come inside and see me! XOX I can't waaaait to record this properly when we bring out our album early next year!! Thank you all so so much for being excited too.. that's like..
